Women's Cry returns to Biel/Bienne for its 3rd edition!
An international arts festival dedicated to raising awareness and denouncing all forms of violence against women and girls worldwide. Paintings, sculptures, readings, concerts, and playback theater will be presented by artists from Biel/Bienne and the surrounding region.
Founded in 2011 by Dominican poet and activist Jael Uribe, Women's Cry (Cri de Femme, Grito de Mujer) has taken place in over 70 countries and is part of UN Women's Generation Equality projects. It carries a universal message of respect, equality, and hope, and celebrates its 16th anniversary this year. The 2026 edition will also highlight the theme of migrant women and girls, with the slogan "Without Borders," and will pay tribute to their resilience, their journeys fraught with obstacles, and their profound traumas.
