Mage & Freudiger

Jeremy Mage (p, voc) and Jürg Freudiger (b) met at jam sessions in Biel's old town. Mage is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and composer. He comes from New York and has worldwide stage experience, including with Lizz Wright, and his keyboard artistry has been recognized on a Grammy-winning album. He teaches piano improvisation at the Music and Movement program at the HKB. His recent releases include several singles with Nigerian artist «Wunmi», instrumentals with Biel collective «Gangjam Records», and his own album «Pretty Songs About Death.» Freudiger is self-taught and has made a name for himself on the double bass in the Biel jazz scene with formations such as A Fine Romance (with singer Angèle Thijs) and Double-Double-Trouble (with double bass partner Matteo Burci).
Together, Mage & Freudiger explore the Great American Songbook, reinterpret well-known jazz standards, and also take trips into the world of pop, soul, folk, and reggae.
