Time flies, and the next exhibition is just around the corner. Chantale Demierre, Christian Spahni and Daniel Turtschi present their works. The exhibition is also an opportunity to pay tribute to Kurt W. Schweikart and his works.

Small scientific drawings were made using a stereo magnifying glass. These studies of very small parts of plants served as the basis for larger-scale work. The choice of watercolour pencil drawings was not accidental.

The search for the most direct expression possible avoids all the complex and costly techniques. The mulberry paper used is both light and hard-wearing, but requires concentrated work, because every line remains visible and nothing can be corrected.

By immersing themselves in this world of reduced space, the observer sees new worlds opening up in almost every respect. The formal language of space is soft and fluid, where living biological substance is concerned. A language of forms here refers, for example, to the world of flowers and woody plants, insofar as our eye is able to recognise them (or the world of minerals, etc.).

All these worlds have their own forms, which are typical of their domain of appearance. The study of such a “new” language of forms inevitably leads to a new appreciation and assessment of the usual world of forms.

The exhibition runs from 3 to 6 July.
