Manfred Mann's Earth Band

Who doesn't know them? Hits like ‘Blinded By The Light’, ‘Davy's On The Road Again’, ‘Father of Day’, ‘Father of Night’, ‘Mighty Quinn’ and ‘I came for you’ have classic status. Manfred Mann founded his legendary Earth Band over 40 years ago, with whom he was regularly in the charts in the 70s and early 80s and played to sold-out halls across Europe.
The Earth Band was already famous back then for its sensational live concerts. Mick Rogers was also a founding member in 1971 and still plays in the band today. At the beginning of 1992, Manfred Mann brought the group, which had disbanded in 1988, back to life. Initially only Noel McCalla (vocals), Mick Rogers (guitar, vocals), Steve Kinch (bass) and ex-Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker were part of the band apart from the Londoner by choice (born in 1940), but later Chris Thompson (Earth Band member between 1976 and 1980) joined for a short time. However, Chris Thompson left the Earth Band again in 1998.
A legendary double live album in 1997 documented the class of this band. In 2004 Manfred Mann released his last studio album with the title ‘2006’. With this album, Manfred Mann once again proved how creative and groundbreaking he is. Since 2011, Manfred Mann's Earth Band has been on tour with a new voice: Robert Hart (ex Bad Company). The band is better than ever and more rocking than ever before.
