Learn the joyful and fascinating singing of the African rainforest people. This multilayered polyphony has accompanied daily tasks and rituals for millennia.
In this workshop the participants will learn songs, chants and rhythms from the Baka tradition.
This will help the participants improve their cooperative listening and interlocking and building vocal confidence and collaboration.

Su Hart is an experienced and engaging teacher with a joyful and supportive style. Since 1992 she has made many visits to the African Rainforest in Cameroon, to sing and live with the Baka People. The collective spiritual singing of the Baka women has informed and inspired her musical development. Song builds community, heal illness and argument, soothes babies and the ‘Yelli’ yodel enchants the animals ensuring luck in the hunt.
