By fate or chance, I frequently confronted death in various facets these last few years. I wrote songs to comfort dying loved ones, which we sang together in their final hours. I searched for a spiritual language that would resonate with a friend who was an avowed atheist at death’s door. And late at night, I wrote to come to grips with my own mortality, and to wake to life in all its beauty and absurdity. Without meaning to, I discovered I’d written an album. Presented acoustically with four vocalists.
