The extensive solo exhibition of Nicolas Polli explores the topics of isolation, lockdown and relationship between hope and desperation. Photographing his private surroundings, naked bodies and food, the artist develops a new genre of still lifes that become metaphorical investigations of Polli’s mental state during the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. A specifically developed scenography presents his photographs as part of a sensual scenography that proposes an intimate look at his everyday life. The images function as a kind of visual diary and explore the bounds of photography as a medium between sculpture, the body and the photographic image. Over the duration of the show, the artist will invite the visitors to various dinner performances, in order to share and experience food and art beyond the traditional format of a white cube exhibition.
